Why Soundsnap Is Music To Your Ears
Someone has put a lot of thought behind Soundsnap, a place where you can upload and download all types of sound effects and music files.
This site literally has thousands of sound bites with categories like animals, nature, industrial, comic, music, science fiction, and more. When you enter a category you’re presented with a layout that’s easy on the eye and quick access to preview the sounds you’re interested in. And you can download in three different flavors: mp3, aiff, and wav.
Sites that I’ve seen having to do with sound files of this nature either have lower quality, poor layouts, or both. In my opinion, this site offers you a lot of choices with a lot of quality.
Who’s this thing for?
Web designers, game programmers, music producers, filmmakers, and many others. Even hobbyists could use these files for home videos or ringtones.
Do I have to pay to use these files?
Nope. It’s all free. They do plan on adding premium services some time down the road, but there’s plenty to choose from without costing you a cent.

Hi Baxter, glad you liked the find. Years ago, when I was involved with multimedia, I would have been like a kid in a candy store with this site.
Thanks for stopping by!

Great find. (Don’t forget us flash developers!)
There’s always an opportunity for me to use free sound effects. I used to use a site called…hmm….flashkit.com! I think that’s what it was but I remember it lacking a little bit last time I was there. Thanks for the heads up!

I bet if we grabbed enough of these sounds we could create an audio reenactment of the drama on that OTHER blog
Other Blog: *random whining sounds*
