Yes, I was :) The amount of followers we get tends to vary, so I can see how manually replying might not work. Thanks for the tips!

@MLDina
Would I be correct in saying you're referring to a manual reply on Twitter? I guess it's really up to the amount of time someone has to do that sort of thing. I think it's great if someone can do that on a 1:1 ratio, but with sometimes it's just not something we can do.

@Ben
Oh I agree with you! It's about the content you provide, but I liken TweetLater to voicemail. We can't always answer every phone call, so we have an automated message thanking the caller in advance and sometimes provide them with instructions on what to do next. Nothing beats a hand-written letter or thank you note, but when it comes to a quick electronic response, you gotta admit that it's quite a timesaver.

@Dennis
Hehe, you're welcome buddy!

@shane and George and Icon
Hey shane, glad you found this useful. :)

@NormalJoe
Yes, we don't need to be bombarded by sales message 24/7. I even complain about that when I'm at the movie theater. I came there to be entertained and get away from it all. But what I do get 30 minutes of while I wait on the movie to start? Ads. :(

Such a basic idea that can be so easily forgotten! Thank YOU for the reminder. I currently don't use TweetLater, but I'm going to consider it now. Do you have an opinion on using TweetLater v. posting a "thanks for following" @ reply?

I think "TweetLater" is a great tool. I'm old school as well and I like courtesy, or at least being acknowledged from the other person. I think this is a great way for bloggers to reach out to their readers.

I don't know mate. I think the reason people follow you on twitter is to get personal with you or at least try to be. Dropping a personalized response is easy if you don't get 500 new subscribers every day and I think that will make people feel a lot better. But you know, that's just me...

It's still a nice tool though!

I knew something like this existed, because I get automated tweet responses from quite a few of the people I follow. I will have to check it out, it seems like a good tool.

Yeah man, I see those, I go back and forth. If it's just a general thank you...I guess it's cool. Maybe even a "hey thanks, checkout my blog" but when it's like "hey, thanks...checkout my latest product" well...I think that pushes it just a tad :mrgreen:

Two of my friends talking about this in the last 10 minutes...hmmm...maybe the sammich man should check it out? I do have an account there, but I'm not using it.
