Spice Up Your Rock, Paper, Scissors Game

The classic rock, paper, scissors hand game is in such a need of an upgrade. It’s time to propel it into the 21st century by adding a few interesting items to your arsenal. Here’s the Ultimate Rock Paper, Scissors chart I found while stumbling:

Ultimate Rock, Paper, Scissors Chart

Dynamite: outclasses gun, explodes rock, starts fire, smoke blots out sun, etc.
Nuke: outclasses dynamite and gun, incinerates rock, has the power of the sun, etc.
Alien: vaporizes dragon, shoots lightning, defuses nuke, etc.
Water: toxic to alien, drowns dragon, conducts lightning, etc.
Bowl: holds water, shapes craft of alien, focuses lightning, splashes dynamite, etc.

And the list doesn’t stop there, so be sure to view the entire chart!

Some things to keep in mind while playing the game:

  • Be sure to wash your hands before playing (your opponent will love you for it)
  • When you’re through playing, pick up after yourself by placing your hands in your pockets
  • It is recommended you have both hands involved in the game. Surfing the web, picking your nose, operating the TV remote or similar activities while playing this game not only puts you at a serious disadvantage, but is also grounds for being banned from the game indefinitely by the Global Rock Paper Scissors Authority (GRoPSA). This will not look good on a resume!
  • Under rare circumstances you may borrow your friend’s hand to play, but only if you: a) have their permission; and b) if your opponent refuses to wash his hands.

  1. I’ve heard of upgrading my computer, my software, and even my cable channels; but I would have never guessed an upgrade for Rock, Paper, Scissors.

This is too cool. Thanks Mark

  2. For an even more extreme version, look up something called RPS-101. It’s rock, paper, scissors, but with 101 different hand positions.

I blogged about it a few months ago.

  3. Wow, that’s freaking awesome! Thanks for sharing this with us. :)

  4. @Christine: hehe, anytime.

@Michael: Holy Overwhelming Game Rules, Batman! That’s pretty cool. Thanks for spotlighting that.

@Tay: I don’t know, the chart I pointed to is good to kick things up a notch, but Michael’s link is for the serious RPS player — REALLY serious!

  5. First let me bookmark this. Now I’m going to use it on my wife. When she complains I’ll just say, “Sorry hon, but the rules got upgraded”

  6. And this is why I love StumbleUpon. There’s such a wealth of useless information that would never be found without it

  7. @Mike: hehe…that is SO true.
