So How Many Infectious Diseases Today?

World Clock does more than tell time. Much more.

You can discover how many traffic accidents have occurred, drownings, abortions, illegal immigration growth, oil pumped, computers produced…and so on. And you can do this for a timeframe you select: year, month, week, day, now.

According to the web site, Poodwaddle.com, there are a variety of sources which are used to tabulate this data. Probably a good idea to verify it yourself, in fact, the site owner welcomes corrections.

Take a gander:

  1. Haha that is great! I bet if you look at it for an hour it’ll drive you crazy

  2. That’s just freaky cool.

  3. Hehe, you know it is pretty nifty to just switch to “now” and see just how much the number grow.

  4. The site has some other cool counters and stuff you ought to check out.

  5. I can’t stop staring at it. Frightening but intriguing.

  6. Hi Danielle! Good to see you here. :) Yes, indeed, it’s something like an accident you can’t keep from staring at.

  7. I just tried switching it to “Now”. That is even more addicting to watch!
I wish we could have our blog stats like this

  8. My mom sent this to me about two weeks ago and I found it hard to look away. I clicked to “Now” and watched as the numbers grew rapidly before my eyes. Some were astonishing and some things were downright horrible at how often it was happening. But I do love this site. I have it in my bookmarks and whenever I’m feeling like an unproductive procrastinator I’ll click on over to it.

  9. Oh wow, I tried the now feature and I can’t believe it. It absolutely boggles the mind….seriously…

  10. Now THAT would be awesome!

  11. When you feel unproductive? Nah, this is educational…you can tell your friends that you know how many cars are produced on average. :)

  12.

  13. Why is this the only clock that depresses me? (#)

  14. Heh. Actually I feel unproductive quite often. Mainly, I mean that sometimes I feel lazy and don’t feel like actually working on anything. But true, you’re right.

Another one of the clocks I like is the How Old R U clock. I like knowing exactly how many minutes I’ve been alive. It’s pretty neat. :)

  15. Hmmm… perhaps a game of Thor Towers will pick you up or maybe try Baron’s goodies.

  16. How can they so interactively gather this information?

  17. Hey there tch. Well, according to the site he has some calculations going on, so I don’t think it’s actually real-time. Maybe estimates. You can find out more here.
