RSS Appreciation Day Is Here
May 1, 2008
As much as I have been online, I must admit that I’ve never heard of RSS Appreciation Day. I think it’s a wonderful idea though. It’s purpose is to generate awareness, the coolness of RSS, and how easy it is to get in touch with information of any topic you’re interested in.
Stemming from this effort is something Aaron Abber is promoting called FeedaPalooza. Aaron is promoting this day in an effort to help us increase our RSS subscriptions and those of other bloggers.
I signed up recently and am eager to see the results in my subscription rate (come on, baby!). It’s simple to join and free. Basically, all you have to do is sign up as a sponsor, decide on something you’d like to giveaway as a bonus to your subscribers, and start promoting.
What am I giving away?
My first FREE ebook, that’s what!
It’s a brief compilation of some of my favorite posts that provide you with details on how to hunt down domain names that can help make you money. If you’ve already subscribed, then you’ll find the link at the bottom of my posts in your feedreader.
As a bonus, Aaron is also giving all of the bloggers who participate in FeedaPalooza a free pass to his $97 Lead Blogging seminar in May. Now remember, this is the guy who I posted about last week who has helped mentor a large number of people, two of which who have become millionaires. I’d encourage you to sign up and get to know Aaron.
I’ve been a student of his for only two weeks and I’m starting to see how his advice can help me gain more subscribers on this blog and others that I own, as well as make money with them. Of course, it’s not just about getting larger subscription numbers. There’s also the responsibility we have as bloggers to provide a reason for those subscriptions to go up. We do that by writing information people can use or be entertained with.
Take a moment, would you, and check out Aaron’s FeedaPalooza.

RSS Appreciation day kind of passed me by - I didn’t even realise it had happened!
I think it’s a good concept though as I’m sure that most of my non-techy visitors have no clue what RSS subscriptions are, hence why I have explanation links next to the subscribe section.

Good idea about making it clear and understandable for newbies. I’ve taken the minimalist approach, but with your number of subscriptions compared to mine, I’m thinking I need to change my strategy.
