I should also add that the wordpress theme graphics are very similar to to those used in Josh Spaulding’s $5 formula (that eBook is included with the themes as a free bonus). So, this approach has been shown to be successful with simple headers.

Lot’s of money has been made with this approach.

I think that the real answer is that simple clean template converts well for mini-sites. That is what the Niche Adsense Themes product is targeted for.

So, my answer is “yes,” simple graphics are great. However, the themes are not some black magic (you knew that). Your results will also depend on the type and quality of your traffic and the quality of your articles (as measured by your bounce rate).

Actually, a site’s value isn’t based on looks alone at least not in search engine terms. Google and other SEs are only interested in the content. Their bots don’t have a clue about how a site looks. The only time that factor comes into play is when humans are involved because we naturally place some value on how things look to us.

Mark’s primary focus with his theme of templates is to make them SEO-friendly, which is to say he has structured them to allow the search engine bots (or spiders) to index the information they need and do it quickly. The overall intent of a niche site/blog is to be found in the search engines or via article marketing so that when users are taken to them, they find the content useful and hopefully click on the ads you’ve placed in your template.
