I’ve Been Tagged!

My friend, Carol, has tagged me. The topic: five reasons why I blog. So here it goes!

• Discovering things. I enjoy finding things on the Net that interest me and passing them along. No really. Who doesn’t like to find something new and useful? And when you add “free” to the list — yeah, baby! (Not that it doesn’t have to be free to be enjoyed or to be useful, mind you.)
• Standing up for something I believe in. I never really thought of myself as a writer or someone who would be passionate enough to speak out for something. But blogging has brought me out of my shell. When I look around and see common sense going downhill and the tail wagging the dog, I guess it sort of woke up the dragon in me.
• Expanding my knowledge. I’m always hungry to learn more, but to keep from getting tunnel vision, I think it’s important to make contacts to exchange ideas and information with. As a side benefit, when you convey your thoughts to someone else — perhaps even defend them — you’re also learning more about yourself by asking, “What do I really believe in?”
• For the challenge. Every blogger knows that if you want to have a successful blog, you have to keep it fresh with new content. And that means having commitment and passion about something. So as long as I have those two things, then I’ll continue to blog.
• Make a positive impression on someone. I think if we each try to help someone, no matter how big or small, there’s bound to be something good come out of it. So whether it’s a site or product review, commentary on current or timeless events, or whatever the topic, then I hope you leave MAMD with a little more knowledge than what you came with.
