Drummin’ Up Some Link Love #23

  • The Good Buzz awardBefore I get into this latest edition of my Drum Corps, I wanted to thank Mike and Christy for my Good Buzz Award. It’s the brainchild of Polli and Mike and is meant “for blogs that have generated a happy hum in the blogosphere. Whether it be for their blog in general, one outstanding, unusual or controversial post, or for something cool the blogger has done. Or even for recognizing some promising, brand-new blogs.” Thanks, Mike and Christy!

And there’s my friend Tish, who awarded me with the I’ve Got a Friend in You award. That’s very sweet of you. Thanks!

Now, on to the latest inductees to my Drum Corps.

GoogleLady asks, “What’s the “next big thing? — It is true that something unique can be the next “big thing” but if you don’t apply the following factors it will not matter if it is unique or not, you can even succeed with a project that is already in the market…”

Kyle’s Cove: Great article on how to give your blog some exposure: “When you first start up a blog, once it is up and running the first thing people usually do is submit their blog to the major search engines, as it can take awhile before most of them get around to begin indexing your website.”

Copyblogger: Guest poster Nathania Johnson writes 5 Improvisational Acting Techniques That Will Make You a Better Blogger. “As an improvisational actor, I wanted to offer the readers of Copyblogger insight into 5 techniques used by improv actors and comedians that can help you improve your blogging.”

Blogging Herald: How to Handle a Blogging Slump is one every blogger should read because writer’s block is inevitable. Finding a way to kick it in its pants can bring us out of out stupor to carry on. “When you start out blogging, you’re full of energy and ideas, and it’s hard to imagine that enthusiasm ever waning, but ask almost everyone who’s been blogging for a long time, and they’ll tell you that it does. Suddenly, where you once had seemingly endless articles waiting to be written, you feel like you have nothing to post about and not much interest in writing anyway. What do you do when you hit one of these blogging slumps?”

Sizlopedia: Is Google getting too big for its breeches? DJ Flush poses the question “Quit PayPerPost or Lose Google Pagerank? “Google is determined to slap every publisher and advertiser who takes part in any sort of paid link activities and tries to manipulate the Google Pagerank technology but perhaps Google’s hunt doesn’t end here.”

Always nice to be recognized for your contribution by your peers…I like the Google lady post because I feel an idea without action is useless…and just because it has been done doesn’t mean you can’t do it better or with a new twist.
