Day One Of Thanks

My friend at blessed1 has given a challenge to her fellow bloggers. The challenge is to write for seven consecutive days about something that they’re thankful for. With so much negativity surrounding us, I felt this was right up my alley and was happy to oblige.

Recently, I’ve had a few setbacks: car repair that wasn’t cheap; time lost because of getting the car repaired; the clothes washer konking out and the resulting decision to just go ahead and buy a used washer and dryer. And to top it off, the dryer isn’t compatible with the outlet given the age of the house so now we’re looking at the possibility of having an electrician to do some work.

But all in all, I have to say I’m thankful that I have these problems. At least I had another car to transport me during the time the other one was being repaired. At least I have a washer and dryer, and clothes to wash and dry them in. At least I have a phone to call the electrician.

As I write this, I’m taking a few glances at the DVD playing in the next room: Pursuit of Happyness. A wonderful and inspirational story. Makes my problems seem not so big after all.

God has provided and will continue to provide for me.

  1. Thank you for kicking this off with something real. Yes, we all have issues…no one should be blind to those….but you’re not blind to your blessings either. Great post!

  2. And thank you, blessed1. Actually, since making this post the issue with the clothes washer has become a little more of a problem, but I keep trying to remember those blessings.
