@Peter
All very good and common questions. I ask myself those questions, in fact. The thing is, that there is no one super tool to use. Personally, I've narrowed it down to Google's keyword tool and Market Samurai. I do this mainly because I am just used to doing it that way and not because I've tapped into some hidden secrets (yet ;) ).

So all I can recommend is to just use what works for you and be open to trying the other tools every once in a while to compare and check on improvements.

Btw, thanks for taking the time to comment and welcome to MeAndMyDrum! :)

Some days ago I bought Micro Niche Finder and I was really impressed with the feature set and also its simplicity. Just today I had a closer look on Market Samurai (right after reading many positive reviews like yours) and it looks like it's even better than MNF.

Unfortunately I also heard other people saying that both tools aren't too reliable because they are both based on Google's Keyword tool, which often times gives incorrect search counts (since it's primarly made for PPC research). Online services like Wordtracker etc. are often times recommended over MNF or MS because of showing more reliable results.

The question is, which tool can one trust? I personally don't want to use and compare the output of 3 or 4 different keyword research tools at the same time, only to get the "right" idea on which niche to choose. I think a tool should be there to make one's life easier. :wink:

So what's your experience with using MS and finding profitable niches? Could it be used standalone or would I still need to check my keywords on other services like Wordtracker for example?

Thank you,
Peter

Yes, they have a few portions of the tool that are still in development, but that just means this great tool will only be better. I use this thing regularly.

Thanks for commenting and welcome to MeAndMyDrum. :)

I had stayed away for a while since I heard that it was going to be great, but not complete yet. Im hearing good things now however, and with Brad Callen possibly going to a monthly fee for seo keyword elite, it may be time to switch!

@Mark - thanks for that comparison, I may have to take a look at Market Samurai.

@Jarret - How did you upgrade to the latest version? I've not received any email as yet and checking for updates in MNF doesn't bring any updates up.

Cheers!

Market Samurai easily beats out MNF, there is no competition. I didn't buy the full version of Market Samurai yet, not sure if I will.

I bought MNF awhile ago and just recently they decided to start using Google's search results. I just actually right now upgraded to the latest version 3.0.10. I have to say that I am really impressed, it is far quicker and I still have it set to the lowest setting as to avoid any temporary ban from Google.

Just tested out some keywords for one of my sites and was surprised to find some that have search volumes at almost twice the exact phrase count...... With this data, I am going to be using MNF along with Market Samurai.

I'll find the good keywords in MNF and then test them out in Market Samurai. I like the simplicity of MNF compared to MS, but MS features and the info you can get from it give it a big advantage.

@Zath
The difference is quite significant, actually. Despite the fact that I've had trouble with MNF for a while now, Market Samurai has options available that you won't find in MNF. For example, it enables you to find content related to your keyword searches and you can analyze that content's ranking, backlinks and other bits of info...all from within Market Samurai.

Additionally, you can save projects. Yes, MNF keeps your searches, but that's all. I can create a project containing any number of keywords to help me categorize my work.

These are just a few of the things you can do with Market Samurai. There are others that aren't even available yet as they continue to build the product.

How does this compare to using Micro Niche Finder?

Does it add better features or is it a tool that does a different job?
