CSS Text Wrapper
-
I found this really cool online tool that let’s you create HTML text and wrap it into different shapes other than rectangles. It’s called CSS Text Wrapper. As you can see, it’s pretty nifty. All I had to do was create my content, paste it into the form, make a few adjustments and BOOM - it gives me my code and all I have to do is copy and paste it right above my text in my post.
This probably isn’t something you want to do on a regular basis, but it may be just the thing you need to spice things up a bit. Maybe you can use it for memes, party invitations that accept HTML, or just because.
You have three methods to choose from on how you can implement it: Inline CSS/XHTML, XHTML w/ Classes, and javascript. The last option is the lightest choice. All you have to do is paste in a couple of lines of javascript. I’m not a programmer, but I believe that’s not going to mix well inside a WordPress post. However, the results can be an eye-catcher.
Making the shape is very easy. Here’s what it looks like:

Ha… Mark, you beat me to it. I found this tool while Stumbling a few days ago and I was going to make a post using it. I thought it was kinda cute

And why might I want to do that?
I’m new to your blog, but I decided I am going to do something new to my blog every week. Learn something new….ahhhh, not sure if this is what I had in mind

@Colin
Hehe…when great minds think alike, that’s bound to happen.
@pawhealer
I see it as something more for blogs that are more concerned about design, than anything else. Thanks for commenting, btw! Good to see you here.

That is very nifty!
I can’t think when I would use it, but indeed it’s very cool!

Oh this is sweet. I learned a technique a while back called “sandbagging” for doing something like this, but why bother with that when this site will do it for you?

I still haven’t gotten around to creating a wacky template with NON RECTANGLE LAYOUT to put this to use…. imagine a site layout thats all curvy and wavy.
Very nice find.

Hey Mark,
I must have missed this one. This is an awesome resource. With CSS I can do normal text wraps; however, the above example is crazy. Excellent find.

Hehe, you could probably do this stuff in your sleep, but glad you like it, Garry.

Oh I don’t know about all that. No man, this is pretty cool. I am just at an average skill level for CSS.
