Clean Up With CCleaner
We surf the Web, we install software, we remove software…lots of things go on that can clutter up our hard drives. CCleaner can help remove all that while giving you back precious hard disk space.
This is a free utility for Windows users that’s meant to optimize your computer’s performance. It does this by removing the unused files that accumulate. It’s also a privacy tool of sorts because it can erase your online activities. But even if you wouldn’t use it for privacy purposes, it’s still a good idea to clean your cache, history, and cookies to ensure you have a clean start every once in a while.
It’s surprisingly fast, too. Just tell it what to scan for, and it will give you an estimate on the amount of space you’ll save. The times I’ve used it, I usually save somewhere around 100 MB of space at least.
Types of files it removes can be associated with Internet Explorer or Firefox, Windows recycle bin and temp files, stuff left behind by third-party applications. It also has a registry cleaner.
I’ve used it for a while now and have been very pleased with it.

This is a really useful tool for cleaning up your pc. I’d recommend this to anyone. Don’t take my word for it, believe in my buddy Mark’s recommendation.

Crap Cleaner should definitely be your arsenal, right next to Ad-Aware. (#):)

Wow I am definitely getting this. Registry cleaner? Woot! That means I can clear out the free trial games I’ve downloaded and played, and then clear them out, and download them again from the same site. Mwahaha.

I have CCleaner now and I’ve ran it once. I cleared out some stuff and cleaned up about 97MB, I think. Pretty useful, I love it.
But, in response to my previous comment above, what part of the registry would
I need to clean out to clear out saved info of previously downloaded free trial games, so I could get them again?
And is it possibly to clear out something using CCleaner that would permanently mess up my computer? Just double checking.
Thanks!

I believe CCleaner makes a backup (or maybe prompts you to?) before making changes to your registry, so you should be covered there. As for what particular types of things you should delete from your registry — hmmm, I’d be afraid to advise you on that one. The registry, as you no doubt know, is something to be respected. My advice is to either ask powers great than me, or leave the expired trial as just that — expired.
