Buh-Bye BlogRush
Alas, our relationship ended before we could really get to know each other. I kept longing for more. It just wasn’t enough.
You made me feel young again by showing me the potential traffic you’d bring me. I waited and waited for your gift, but it never arrived. And even though your plans for our future left me dizzy trying to understand them, I still had high hopes.
Even now, I’m struggling with the image burned into my memory forever after our visit this afternoon. How long have you had this other guy? I believe his name is “Current Lee Unavailable”, is that right?
I’ve seen that sleaze before on so many sites; he certainly gets around. His faceless stare and featureless body made me wonder what you saw in me at all because I could have given you so much more! Maybe it was the way he flexed his muscles as he lifted the bricks, or the manly way he handled traffic cones. Whatever.
If tools and bricks are your thing, then so be it. I’ll find another lover.

I really enjoyed that post Mark!
Up until the last couple of days I’ve had decent traffic from BR, so I’m giving them some more time to iron out the wrinkles.
Things were going quite well until about three days ago, so I hope they get back on track ASAP.
LOL —> “Current Lee Unavailable” That was gold, man. Gold!
Shine on,
Aaron

Awesome entry, it truly puts in words nicely what blogrush truly has to offer :). Along with that it’s a hilarious read :D.

That was freakin’ hilarious! LoL.
I haven’t given up on them yet, but I don’t know why. They say I’ve earned all of these credits but yet I haven’t received any traffic from them. I saw a couple of my friends blogs on the little widget so I keep hoping..one day maybe that little construction guy will put my blog up there too…

@Aaron: thanks dude! Maybe I’m being premature in this. If it turns out they do better, then I may change my mind.
Mark | Sep 30, 2007 | Reply
@Christy: thanks. Maybe it’s just my blog and the way it’s connected to others, but I only received 4 visitors from them. It’s taking up precious sidebar space, so I figured putting them on the shelf for a bit is the thing to do.

@Slevi: thanks man!

I removed this hunk of garbage from my blog last week. I cannot stand advertising for other sites I’ve never heard of.
If you are getting 2-3000 pageviews per day, yes it may help. If you don’t get that kind of traffic, then it is making other people rich.
Mark | Sep 30, 2007 | Reply
@Bobby: yeah, I remember that post, in fact, it helped me make the decision it’s not really for me unless they make some changes. And if you’re getting that kind of traffic anyway, then you really don’t need BlogRush. At least I’d be happy with that kind of traffic.

What a wonderful post!
You said good bye to one of your love…
We say that sad word maybe it is because It doesn’t realized its promises to us. Some bloggers also broke up its relationship to that widget because of it. But some said they got more traffic using it. Blogrush must solve this problems in oder to not to lose its members. I’m using it also on one of my blog and is currently under observation .

Are they having bandwidth problems?
That was such a touching post, I was in tears

Hi Mark! My patience has dried up, too.
I have taken it from the sidebars — it is all just taking too long. And they made mistake upon mistake, in communicating. First they send out e-mails that are really promising — and then they keep the site under construction for days and days, without warning for that. Unbelievable..
Mark | Oct 1, 2007 | Reply
@Baron: I recall that being an issue, but who knows what else they’re dealing with. I’m glad you connected with the post. I always write from the heart.
@Jos: I appreciate all the communication they’ve been sending out, but apparently their challenges are larger than they once thought.

I’ve said good-bye to BroRush a week ago.

I haven’t seen a single drop of traffic to either of the sites I placed the Blogrush thingy on. I was pretty skeptical with it from the start, so I certainly wasn’t expecting a “rush” of traffic but even just a few new visitors would have been nice ;P
Mark | Oct 1, 2007 | Reply
@Mike: I hear ya, brother. Just four people is all it sent me.
Mark | Oct 1, 2007 | Reply
@Symbian: that seems to be trend I’m seeing.

@Builders: who knows, maybe it’ll turn around and be the “in” thing to do. But I’d rather place more useful things in my sidebar for now. Thanks for commenting!

@Betshopboy: Hey, good to see you hear! I hope you’re doing well.

That was awesome to read. Man you have a ton of creativity!
Anyway, its been awhile since I lasted checked. But at the time I last checked, I was getting quite a bit of traffic. I personally don’t like how the widget looks on my blog and I may very well consider removing it too… not because of traffic though.
I haven’t unveiled this on my blog just yet but my good friend Thor is creating a very nice widget that could easily provide an alternative to BlogRush. Also one of the key elements to his widget is that it is machine readable.
I’ll be covering more about this on my blog as I continue to discover more about it. In the mean time, check out Thor’s post here. If you end up downloading or commenting, tell Thor that Garry sent you!
Mark | Oct 5, 2007 | Reply
@Garry: Thanks for your kind words.
I’ll definitely check out Thor’s post. But if I see any worm recipes…
Jenny | Oct 9, 2007 | Reply
I’ve gotten rid of it too. Too much bad press about it for me. And I get like NO traffic or comments from it.
Mark | Oct 9, 2007 | Reply
Hi Jenny, you’ve probably received by now an email from them telling users to expect some big changes. I appreciate their communication skills — that’s big in my book. It’ll be interesting to see what changes they’ll be making. But true, I didn’t get a bit of traffic from them.
