Are you interested in ways that increase your productivity? How about making money online — you’d like that, wouldn’t you? Well, that’s what I write about here on MeAndMyDrum — things I find on the Internet that you can profit from. And when I say “profit”, I don’t just mean generating revenue using online tools and strategies. I also mean information that can save time with your online activities and provide other information that will have you leaving here just a little bit more than what you came with.
Every once in a while, I “color outside the lines” by discussing things that deal with whatever strikes a chord with me, but one thing’s for sure: you can always count on me being truthful and engaging. If I do all of that right, then my hope is you will not only return for more, but also share in the discussion.
I started this blog back in February 2007. Since that time I’ve learned a lot about blogging, found numerous sites and software designed to educate, entertain and make doing some things easier. And while I’m not quite ready to quit my day job, I have made more money online than I ever thought I could. I have plans to make a lot more!
But most importantly, I’ve learned a lot about myself and how much I enjoy sharing information. I’ve gone from being someone who mostly kept to himself to actively enjoying creating a community here.
Why the name?
You may be wondering why I named my blog “Me And My Drum” and what it has to do with the things I mentioned above. Well, it doesn’t — at least not on the surface. I chose that name for a couple of reasons.
One reason is that a drum gets attention, but only if someone beats on it. I liken that to a person’s voice. They may have something to share that could benefit someone or they may disagree with something, but decide to just let it happen without saying a peep. I’ve chosen to use my voice — my drum — to share and speak up. The best way I know how to do that is what you’re looking at right now.
The second reason (and probably the most important one) is that it’s one of my favorite Christmas songs that holds a special meaning to me. A boy who experienced poverty and tragedy gave all that he could as a gift to a king. You remember the last line in that song, don’t you? “Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum, Me And My Drum.”
I hope that He smiles at me when I meet Him some day.
