A Backbeat For My New Readers

by Mark Sierra on November 24, 2007

Subscriptions are up and traffic has increased. So I thought this would be a good time for me to do a Backbeat for my new readers — a post that summarizes what I do here at MAMD and a few other places I write for on the Web.

MeAndMyDrum: This is homebase for me. I write on a variety of things here: blogging tips, current events, humor, anything that strikes my fancy. I owe a lot of my recent increase in traffic to the success of my Be The Blog award, which, I am excited to say, has really taken off. So if you’re here because you received the award, thanks for coming back and I hope you’ll continue to bestow the award to other great blogs. >> Subscribe to this feed here.

Family WebWatch: this blog was my debut to the blogosphere. It informs parents how to keep their children and themselves safe while surfing the Web. You’ll also find me pointing out great new sites and services designed to make them more productive, educate them, and have a little fun, especially for the kids. >> Subscribe to this feed here.

Darn Good Reviews: About two months old, this one is where I exclusively write reviews about products, sites and services. Think of it as a “cool thing of the day”. >> Subscribe to this feed here.

UPDATE 11/24/07
Family Support Forum: It seems I wrote my post a little late at night because I forgot to include this blog (thank you Ad Tracker :) ). Family Support Forum is where I post about family matters, from newborns to parenting, health issues during pregnancy and for baby, baby products, etc.

Now, these are blogs I am a contributing author for:

BlogsWeLuv: Created by Mike and Tish, this blog is a happenin’ place. You’ll find reviews for blogs from all over. Plus, they have a unique series of 10 Questions posts giving readers a behind-the-scenes look at the authors of blogs they love. You’re sure to find something of interest there. >> Subscribe to this feed here.

Blog About Your Blog: If memory serves, I believe this is the first place I entered the ranks of “co-authorship”. This community brings together bloggers from all over who are passionate about blogging and enjoy sharing what they find with other bloggers. >> Subscribe to this feed here.

Digital Journal: a recent relationship I’ve started, this site offers news from the globe by “citizen journalists”. This opportunity requires a different writing style of sorts — less personal and more “newsy” — so I welcome the chance to hone my writing skills in that manner.

I have a few other blogs that I run or am working on for a launch, but will keep those under wraps for now.

I welcome my new readers and am so thankful to my longstanding ones. Please leave a comment on my posts when you find something you like or resonate with, and feel free to contact me using my contact page anytime.
